Reaseheath Works and Stabling Point

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I've finally got around to a making a new topic for Reaseheath Works and Stabling Point. Reaseheath is certainly a micro layout (measuring just 80 cm's in length and 30 in width). It is modern image and plays host to a wide range of Freightliner, DRS, GBRf, EWS and Colas locos. There is a wagon works on the left hand side of the layout with a Freightliner stabling shed and fuelling point on the left.

The 'fiddle yard' consists of a peco loco lift, whilst the shed roof is also removable to enable use of the loco lift to plonk locos in and out of the front road.

Still be done is the wagon works roof, as well as detailing. Reaseheath is supposed to be located near Crewe (as in real life where it is just outside nearby Nantwich) and will have a few bits of 'pro-Crewe Alex' graffitti... 'Westwood for England' etc etc.

Anyway, enough waffle, here are a few pictures...

Yayayay! Your layout has found its way home onto the MRL forun :P Great to have it back!

Do I see my GBRf 66? Ha ha! Thats mine now! Copyright goes to me - mwahahaha!

Hi Jack,

Very glad to be back. I've missed posting on here - been busy settling back into school, which of course made me realise hundreds of things I hadn't sorted over the holidays. Ah well, I'm getting there now... until I go on our year 5 residential on Wednesday! Not sure I will be as frequent a poster as before, but it's nice to be back!

The 66 is indeed yours... that is one of the shots of it as it leaves Reaseheath light engine, working the 0Z84 Reaseheath Works - Basford Parkway. Hope it's doing you well and settling in well.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks for the kind comments gents. F1p, to answer, I will get onto that as soon as possible for you.

Jack - I will actually be at the food festival in nearby Nantwich on Sunday so can't promise, but will do my best!

Georgie, glad to be back, the modelling 'mojo' had dimmed for a little while (whilst getting back into teaching) but is not back burning brightly. I still have some ideas regarding a little boxfile zooming round too...

I've just got back from a three day residential trip with a class of 9/10 year olds, and I arrived back to find a little surprise in the post! This will be added to the layout over the weekend (although I have tomorrow morning earmarked for a lie in having had a combined total of 7 hour sleeps over the past two nights) and be photographed asap and added on here.

Thanks for looking,

Chris

It will be a secret until a little later on today. Just waiting on a bit of paint to dry before placing on the layout.

In other news... I have now added a proper roof to the wagon works, this will also be visible on the pics hopefully added today.

Hi all,

Firstly, as requested, here is the overhead shot...

And here is the secret scene...

All looks normal at Reaseheath as EWS 08709 Mollys Day leaves a wagon outside the works...

But... as it pulls away... do my eyes deceive me?

You're very welcome. I'm glad you enjoy it.

At the moment the layout is very much just a static diorama... wiring is required! Now, do I do this first, of move onto more pressing matters such as the spare box file I have lying around...

ho hum...

Well, it will be 'like' Goostrey. As it has Jodrell Bank just further up the line I will bash it so that it actually appears in the 'shot,' in a model that is aiming more to capture the feel of Goostrey than the actual reality.

Although the 009 option still appeals. To be continued...

Will try and photo more of Reaseheath over the weekend.
