Another Layout update... almost done with trackwork now! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEtaXMpgCIc
  2. Quick video doing a bit of a recap and a running session (yes it runs!)...
  3. How do you embed youtube videos now? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwIniiaL3sI no longer works, so all my posts are all broken
  4. LNER Teak Coach modifications (makes those terrible plastic looking LNER coaches look great)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwIniiaL3sI
  5. Cool this is a good bit faster too!! :)
  6. Found some pretty good resources via eBay for doing research and getting insight into British Rail's past... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIFBaoKjw8A
  7. Quick look at it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jlHt6Kw0GA
  8. This is a quick video showing how to open and lubricate the Bachmann Class 04. I needed to do this the other day and was quite surprised that nobody had a video up (at least that I could readily find) on YouTube showing how to open this thing, plenty of folks showing the end results of their DCC Sound options... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN1jkR61st4
  9. Thanks... so that is the trade off between solid-core (more rigid) and multi-strand (more flexible) wire. Tensioning it around a tin would work for the multi-strand wire, but the solid-core wire I ended up using is more rigid and easier to shape. I probably should take another go at making it "hang" a little more naturally. Might be less annoying if I have a few beers first!!

Here is the latest video with a bit of a teaser for the layout update... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz8AUxtQMzM Later today (Friday) I should have three new layout videos up, the Eastern Region HST going around the outer loop, layout update and a full layout tour... so stay tuned!

I'll probably post a video later tonight with a link to the poll, so that should get some more folks voting! :)

Now that the sub-zero (F not C) temperatures are done for the season, the basement has warmed up and I've managed to squeeze extra 10' into the layout. So just finished adding 30' x 2' of baseboard to the main layout. Will do a major layout tour and other videos over the weekend, lots of track work to do, but I will have the outer loop completed this weekend, it should be north of about 50' since it spans both the second and third phase of the layout... 14. Hey, I'm looking to put together a full rake for a Class 390/0 (9 car), so far I have: R1155 set (looks like its DMRF+MF+PTF+DMSO) R4271A (PTSRMB) R4273 (MF) R4274C/D (MS) The 390/0 setup seems to be DMRF+MF+PTF+MF+TS+MS+PTSRMB+MS+DMSO so it looks like all I am missing is the TS which is R4272A. I think I found a place in the UK that says it has it in stock, so hopefully! :) It looks like to get the 11 car rake, you'd need to add another R4272A and R4274B I think this is right, but would be great if someone else could check and confirm :) Thanks
  15. So Hattons finally came through and the Pendolino set I've had on order for ages finally came in. I lucked out and found a supplier in North America that had the additional coaches except for R4272A. So anyone got any clue where I might find one? Thanks
