A bit of maths for you all...

I've been pondering over this maths sum this morning.

Take this...

Add these to it...

And what do you get...?

A tiny servicing (water and coal) point for a small preserved/industrial railway.

Love it Chris! A sweet little diorama that'll turn out to be!

I'm thinking of two tracks corner to corner with a diamond crossing in the middle. One track for steam loco running between coaling stage and water tower, the other track for diesel shunter running between fuelling point (a few oil drums and a hand pump) and its low relief stabling shed.

I think adding any special track like a crossing would mean there's too little space for much else. I'd go with something like the plan below... In fact I have a shoebox and a couple of pieces of track to hand and might have a try at building this version myself. Rickety wooden structures for coal and water, rusty wriggly tin loco shed and a grounded tank car for fuel oil.

Mmmm. OO, On18, On30 or Gn15?
