Hi Bob...

Apart fronm the Tri-ang Railways Girder Bridge, did I detect some parts from the Tri-ang "Davey Crockett" 2-6-0 TC Series "Wild West" loco in that 2-4-0? ;)

Nice..... :)

Hi Sarah.

Not Tri-ang, but about the same vintage. It's a Rivarossi HO scale 2-4-0 donor, similar to the one shown below. The cab was completely dismantled then reassembled with some extra inserts to make it wider and taller. The running boards above the driving wheels were widened to match the cab, then the tender was sliced in half lengthways and an extra bit inserted in the middle to make it match the loco.

As you can see the smoke stack is ridiculously large, looking better in On30 than it did in HO scale.

PS - The HO scale loco shown here has a tender drive mechanism. Mine is an older version with the motor in the cab, but that's not a problem because the firebox quite often extended into the cab on American steam locos with the firebox door at the rear of the loco frames, fed with the fireman standing on the tender while the driver sat beside the firebox instead of behind it.
